Exposure visit

CED has imparted residential training and conducted exposure visits for nearly 5,000 personnel and elected representatives from Kerala, Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh under Capacity Building of Urban Local Bodies (CBULB); Comprehensive Capacity Building Programme (CCBP) and Integrated Capacity Building Programme (ICB) from 2012 to till today under urban flagship missions including JnNURM, AMRUT, HRIDAY, SBM(U), NULM, PMAY. CED has already completed five training programmes on Jal Jeevan Mission in the states of Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh as the Key Resource Centre (KRC) of the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Govt. of India.

Exposure Visit

The exposure visit organized by the Centre for Environment and Development (CED) provided participants with practical insights into innovative wastewater treatment and management practices. Engineers and officials visited operational treatment plants, decentralized systems, and reuse facilities to understand real-world applications of technologies discussed during training. The visit facilitated interaction with plant operators, local authorities, and experts, enhancing participants’ understanding of design, operation, and maintenance challenges. It also highlighted sustainable approaches such as bio-remediation, reuse of treated water, and energy-efficient systems. Overall, the visit strengthened participants’ technical capacity and encouraged adoption of best practices in wastewater management and environmental protection.
