CED has been involved in various IT and IT Enabled Services, especially in fields related to Geoinformatics, Bioinformatics, Management Information Systems and Decision Support Systems.CED utilizes the high resolution satellite data for its studies and involved in Spatial Planning in large way.Also has good experience in preparation of GIS Base Maps of Citiesusing High Resolution Satellite Data and also preparation of GIS based Master Plans of Cities and Towns
The Centre is actively engaged in R&D programmes linking Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), developing innovative geospatial solutions for different development sectors and supporting local-level planning across the country.
CED is also involved in training and capacity building in Geoinformatics for different user groups and conducts an International Short Term Course in Geoinformatics. Since 1994, the Centre has developed extensive expertise in providing advanced geospatial solutions and services.CED also provides support for Graduate and Post Graduate students to carryout Internship and also project works as part of their curriculam.
