.Focal Theme: “Life and Energy Efficiency”
Energy Management Centre – Kerala (EMC) invites proposals for providing services to facilitate URJA KIRAN 2022-23 (Energy Conservation Awareness Campaign and Energy Conservation Month Celebrations). The objective of the program is to create awareness among the general public and equip them for efficient management of all forms of energy, to promote energy efficiency and energy conservation and to develop new sources of energy as well as novel energy technologies with a view to increasing production and facilitating the use of energy on a sustainable basis. It aims at seeking Participating Agencies (PAs) to convene, catalyze and facilitate works in the energy conservation related activities in a participative mode for it public participation activities across the State. Therefore, institutions that have been involved in community participation, environment, and energy conservation work are invited to apply for the task.
Centre for Environment and Development is the Resource Agency (RA) for coordinating the activities of URJA KIRAN 2022-23.
Activities of URJA KIRAN 2022-23
- Energy Conservation Awareness Workshops/Seminars: 1 to 2 Workshops/Seminars will be conducted in all Legislative Assembly Constituencies of Kerala
- Energy Conservation Rally, Pledge and Signature Campaign: To celebrate National Energy Conservation Day/Week between 2022 December 13th to 20th December 2022 one each in all 140 Legislative Assembly Constituencies in Kerala with the participation of MLAs.
- Taluk Level Short Video Production Competition: Aimed at giving a good message to people on Life and Energy Efficiency through short videos with followable models and good practices in energy conservation and energy efficiency at local level highlighting the environmental benefits and to disseminate the videos using social media along with other resource materials developed by EMC.
- Innovative Approaches for public awareness on energy conservation and efficiency: Encourage Participating Agencies to create awareness among public about energy conservation and efficiency through various innovative approaches like volunteering artists for graphic wall paintings, cut outs etc. in city centers
- District level Electric Vehicle Owner’s Meet: To honor the front runners in EV and to share their experiences and encourage others to Go Electric by utilizing media.
All the above programs are implemented through Participating Agencies selected from all over Kerala
